Make toys that can be played by everyone. Inspiration for Primary Toys came from my developmentally disabled Aunt Jeanie. When I was growing up I would always give her childrens’ toys on holidays instead of adult gifts. Due to her disability, she would be sensitive to certain attributes in her toys like noise for example. It was difficult to find her suitable gifts because age-appropriate labels (i.e. 3+) on packaging often does not reflect the child’s developmental age. Over time, it was always a mission for my family to find her the perfect toy; one that made noise but wasn’t too noisy or one that was soft but also durable. With this memory in mind, I was inspired to create a website where caregivers can create customized toys for their disabled child. Primary Toys is proud to say that we fight for a demographic that is rarely taken into consideration, because everyone deserves the perfect toy.
